what would be a good fish to add to a cold water aquarium to ear diatom and green algae? i was thinking maybe Gastromyzon borneensis or gara pingi pingi

define cold if you maintain water at room temperature between 15-20 there's some pleco's that'll live quite happily as "cold water"

stick a thermometer in there if its constantly above 15c then you can get away with some pleco's commons will be quite happy anything above 15 if you're closer to 20 then you get a rather nice selection of trops that'll be fine in there
