would you need to use complete fertiliser with good fish stock?
iv got 7 large angels and dwarf cichlid pair and 4 cory cats and 5 congo tetra and pleco

im dosing 18ml daily The aquascaper and 17ml easy carbon

my nitrates are normally at around 25-30 ppm and drop to around 15 after 50% water change each week

would I be better using a fertiliser that will not add nitrate and cut back on easy carbon" and only do water change every 2 weeks or when nitrates creep up again

whot amount of nitrates do plants really need to thrive ??

All depends on your lighting really.
Not sure how big your tank is,but I use 3ml of tnc complete daily,in my 150 litre.
I like to keep my tds at about the same figure as my tap water.

Please forget about nitrates and or testing them. Apart from the testfaults you are adding nitrates to feed the plants ( depending on source 500 ppm is stil safe). Only in unplanted tanks with heavy fishload nitrates can be dangerous but that has to do with their origin nitrite and ammonia..Cutting back on ferts due to test results will lead you into trouble.
