We have a great corkscrew willow growing over our pond and it always has some dead branches that snap off easily. Would these be suitable for use in an Aquascaping, anyone know how long they last and would I have to strip the bark off?

Hi all,

Yes, take the bark off, bit they won't last very long. A lot of people use Willow and Poplar to feed Panaqolus spp.

You tree is Salix matsudana "Tortuosa". If you put living twigs in the <"aquarium they may grow">.

It isn't the tree you have, but he Corkscrew Hazel (Corylus avellana "Contorta") is a <"lot longer lasting"> under water.
