I have found some of these critters in a fish tank that I have just planted (only plants in the tank for the moment) after taking some plants from a local river. I have a few questions regarding them.
1. What do they eat
2. Will they dig up plants
3. Would they harm my fish
It has been rathe difficult to find consistent information that isnt just about their classification. Any help would be appreciated

Hi all,
It has been rathe difficult to find consistent information that isnt just about their classification.
All these little crustaceans tend to look pretty similar, but a <"lot of them are invasive aliens etc">, so knowing what you've got is quite important.

I've kept Crangonyx for the last five years and they are a really good addition to the fish tank. Have a look at:
I also keep <"Asellus aquaticus">.

cheers Darrel
