So i have just bought a crinum. The bulb i have received has smaller bulbs attached to it and was wonder if i am able to pull these apart and plant them separately?

Would doing so damage the main bulb or the plant itself?

Thanks

Hi all,

You can, but I would definitely let them grow for a couple months first, still attached to the main bulb. Once they've formed proper bulbs, of their own, they should be easier to separate from the main basal plate.

cheers Darrel

Thanks for the reply. Thats fine i will defo leave them attached for now.

Im just getting ready to plant them well send a picture over to confirm i have planted it right, i know your meant to leave the bulb 2/3 out.

i will also be putting a root tab under it as well

This is how it’s been planted is this alright?
