Current progress on rehomed tank

HeyI’m from Sheffield, living in Canada, the aquascape community here isnt very big, getting plants is quite hard, especially exotic Type. Here’s my slow project from where it started on October 3rd, upcycled tanked. Glass won’t clean up that great,
50 gallon resealed, painted stand, fluval 406 canister filter, fluval plant 3.0, stratum substrate, mopani wood, c02 injection (I don’t have a counter yet so not sure where to set the bubbles to) just started to see algae on wood, have filter media in, no carbon, gunk from friends fish store. Thinking the 406 is probably overkill especially with a lot of plants, maybe a rushed decision.
plants are frogbit, crypts, hornwort, Amazon swords (I think ) Java moss and Java fern, some corkscrew stuff, and wisteria. Had some melting, some growth on Java moss and signs on the frogbit.

p.h is quite acidic Right now. other parameters are good.
what do you guys think?

I’m in Canada too - but made it to Ireland for a few years and was astounded as I had very odd notions after reading PFK ... enter Reality where no one would even consider shipping (anything!) as I was not in Dublin or Belfast Saved by an amazing guy in Dublin (I went about contacting every Irish shop that had ever been written up in PFK) who’d just sold his shop but went 2000% aboveboard getting me gear ... flew to London for fish (OK the fish were on the last day of a 4day trip, Thank You Ryanair for not questioning my carry on bag full of water), drove to Belfast for Tanganyikans

Nice, are you located in Toronto? Yeah I saw they have a tropica grow lab out here but I have never seen it in any shops, most stuff online is sold out
