Hi folks, so my EX1200 sprung a leak tonight!

I removed the lid from the motor unit and traced the leak to the ball valve assembly, I think it is coming out of the side of the ball valves where there is an embedded o-ring. Has anyone managed to repair these?

Good job I was 2 weeks in to a fishless cycle but gutted I will probably have to start all over again! :-/

Hi all,
I can't help with the filter.

But, you don't need to cycle a new tank with ammonia, you just need to plant it and let the plants grow in.

Have a look at <"Bedside Aquarium">, it has a much fuller explanation.

cheers Darrel

WIll check that out thanks. Anyway, further inspection this morning revealed a tiny o-ring had failed within the pipe coupling unit. Plumbers merchent, new o-ring and sorted :D
