detaching plants from wood

do you have any tips for removing plants from wood?

Should I cut the roots or gently pull?

any tips for Anubias barteri var. nana and Microsorum pteropus ''Narrow'' in particular

new wood on he way...

Gently pull. don't worry about breakage too much. They will regenerate.
