    Hi guys,

    I have a 65 litre tank with about 3wpg and ive been reading up on using dry ferts but im a bit confused on how much i should be dosing and what values i should be aiming for?

    Ive been dosing as follows,

    monday --> N 5ppm P 1ppm K 20ppm
    tuesday --> traces
    wednesday --> N 5ppm P 1ppm K 20ppm
    thursday --> traces
    friday --> N 5ppm P 1ppm K 20ppm
    saturday --> 50% water change, traces
    sunday --> rest

    Am i doing this wrong?

    Using an online calculator for EI

    for a 65ltr tank the min is...

    3 Days a week dose...
    KNO3 0.87g (1g)
    K2SO4 0.4g (0.5g)
    KH2PO4 0.25g (0.5g)
    MgSO4 2.26g (2.5g)
    With trace at 0.15g (0.5g)

    I generally round up as using more doesn't hurt as the concentration of ferts will never been equal at all points in the aquarium. To make it simpler, you could take the values I've put in brackets but each to their own. You'll never end up sticking to the mathematical amounts as you'll tailor it to your tank conditions.

    That gives you N 20ppm, K 30ppm, P 3ppm and Mg 10ppm per week.
