Compared to the other Eleocharis species, i was just wondering what would happen if you didn't decide to trim it as it is a relatively short plant. As we know, trimming promotes growth. Will i see a stutter in growth?

I've read recently that this species doesn't need trimming due to its smaller size so maybe try leaving it alone and see if it starts spreading itself.... Maybe even try trimming some and leaving another patch untrimmed to monitor the difference if any?

Thanks for the replies guys. Im gonna leave it and see how it goes.

I have had mine growing for approx 4 weeks, have not trimmed it and have seen it spread out, and grow new grass blades on its own accord. Mine was the Tropica 1, 2, 3 version, which I split up into smaller clumps and planted approx 5cm apart.

Am starting to think about trimming.

I like the idea of it going curly :) It is going to feature in my new scape when I drag my sorry ass into gear.
