I am after a fast growing moss (not Java) or plant that will creep

This is what I want it for I have a large bit of hollow wood in my tank which is placed vertical I would like to place a bit of moss or a plant at the bottom of the wood and it would creep up the side of the wood.

I have just ordered a 5x5cm pad of it will give it a try

is there any other plant that would do it ?

There is no such thing as fast growing moss. Some mosses may grow faster than others but they are not fast growing compared to other plants.

Cheers,

So whats the fastest of the mosses then ?

As Darrel mentions, Xmas is one of the faster types, and so is Spiky and Weeping. Naturally, adding massive levels of CO2 and with stronger lighting will accelerate the growth rates.

Willow moss is quick growing, although it had quite an upright form and I don't think it would cling to the wood.
