Hi guys,

I’m trying to scape a 30cm cube, with lockdown I’m just using what I have. The cardboard cut out is my floor plan.

A few pebbles which I picked up at a beach years ago, not sure if I should use this or scrap and buy seiryu stone.

A really rubbish piece of redmoor which I have cut up to make it looks a tad more interesting.

Some leftover gravel. (I have a tonne more than what’s in the pic)

Idea is to have aqua soil at the back, a pebble barrier then a sandy front :)

Some of the wood appears to look ‘blunt’ I aim to use some pliers to strip it off and give it a natural appearance.

I think it really works, just move the wood forward more. The more the better, it’ll add depth and allow more room for planting :)

The range sells bags of natural pebbles in 2 sizes in there fish section. There pretty cheap so you could just pick out the ones that match the colours, looks like they do delivery as well

I decided to get the saw and pliers out and have another go at the redmoor root and experiment a few different looks.

Of the last 4 ...4th one.... from a stick and stone perspective..
Try this, just relax and let your eye "wander" and see where it ends up.

First one my eye goes "out" the tank following the stones.
Second one is fine but "personally" just don't like the circle of wood.
Third one is ok. Fourth beats it w/ the negative space in the upper right section and the hole in the middle sticks/stones.
Also third "needs something" I seem to have a tendency to stay looking in the foreground..

just one way to look at it.
