hi, i have some jbl aquabasis and im about to set my 240l tank up, do i need to cap it, (i have black gravel) or not? which looks best? will i suck the aquabasis up when i do a gravel clean? what is the advantage of capping?

Yeh I would cap it with gravel, to stop is clouding the water. Anything would do, so the aesthetics of how it looks once you added the 'cap' is entirely up to you :)

I like black substrates personally as they contrast nicely with the plants.

If you plant heavily then you shouldn't need to 'gravel clean' the gravel, in facts leaving the mulm in the substrate gives the plants nutrients! So save yourself a job :)
