Hello hope everyone is well. Wanted to ask what filter would you advise for the aquarium? I currently have an newa internal filter which works well however was thinking of going with external canister. Was looking at the oase thermo 100, would that be too much? I know the flow can be adjusted but isn’t lowered the flow be bad for the filter in the low run? Just don’t want the soil to be going everywhere. Thanks!

I think a lot might depend on your outlets with regard to soil going everywhere, If you're to use a spraybar then flow is a lot more even.
I believe if you use the poppy/spin type glass outlets then they 'soften' the flow intensity but unsure how they work with regard to flow circulation.

I used one of these on a 45P and the glass outlets I used did move the soil around quite a bit but you might find an outlet that suits the aquarium better. Putting a simple flow valve inline seemed to cure the problem.

Oase have adjustment on their inlets/outlets with this filter which works just like an inline flow valve.
I was told by Hagen/Fluval in the UK that a valve intended to regulate flow on the G3 and G6 filters would damage my motor over time despite this valve being intended for this purpose and the instructions detailing it - go figure!

I managed to find a surface skimmer for the tank. Just one thing should it be higher or lower ? Or it’s alright thanks
