Hi, I’m looking at setting up my first planted tank which will include shrimp. I’m likely to go for a 55L aquascaper with pressurised CO2.

What would be a good filter that would create enough flow to get the CO2 around whilst being safe for the shrimp?

I’m undecided on internal or external so all options are on the table.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

As above. Any filter can be made shrimp proof with a sponge or shrimp guard on the inlet. Sponges are great as prefilters (and the shrimps will love feeding off the biofilm collected on them) and you can get mesh shrimp guards which also stop them getting sucked up but they limit the flow more and don't add to the filtration, they do look better however if the inlet isn't hidden.
