Can I just silicone one 12/16mm hose inside a 16/20mm hose to reduce the pipe to fit my lilly pipes?

I was thinking of getting something like Eheim do, to do the job, but they seem rather expensive for the job they do.

Any suggestions & photos of what you've done would be welcome.

    Thanks

I've just used 12/16mm pipe inside 16/22mm pipe on fittings. Never bothered silconing them though, just pushed them in securely.

Thanks Ed, I'll see how they fit together when I get home.

They seem to stick together with some force.
Think I'll do it as you suggest.
