We often aim for something between 1 and 5 bar into our diffusers. But what's the operating pressure of the average fe. I'm guessing below 75 bar, dropping over time. Is anyone aware of significant variation from this?
A FE contains about 2Kg of liquid CO2 at nominal 55bar pressure. As you use CO2, the liquid evaporates, but pressure stays always at about 55bar. Once all the liquid has gone and only gas is left the pressure will then start to drop.
Only way to find out how much CO2 is in your FE is to weigh it. Weigh it with regulator etc all connected, when first setup, 5.38Kg in my case and weigh each water change to see how much is left. Mine is currently 3.40Kg and pressure reading only 40bar Guess what I am doing tonight during water change....
