Hi all, joined this forum about 6 months ago. Have finally found the time to build the cabinet for my aquarium and start the exciting process of scaping/filling the tank.

I was inspired by Filipe Oliveira’s river stream tank -
But I wanted to try avoid using any wood, mainly because I always had ‘bogwood’ in the aquariums i had growing up, so wanted to try something different. However I’m open to changing my mind on this

here’s my first effort:

With this being my first aquascape as well as any comments/critiques on the aesthetics of the hardscape I’d like to hear peoples opinions on whether I have enough space behind and between the rocks for planting.

for reference tank dimensions are 800x400x450

Tweaked it a little to create more room in the foreground, and also try to better align the ‘strata’ of the rocks.

Also I’m beginning to think I don’t like the texture of the rock used for the ‘peak’, its’ golf ball like dimples don’t match the rest of the material.

Heading to aquarium gardens on Monday to pick out my plants so might see if they have a more suitable piece of stone for the peak.
