My tank is a 10 gallon with 2x hob filters (Aquaclear 30 + 20) ... The 30 is dead center in the back and the 20 is on the side to catch some dead zones (due to my hardscape).
My rotala have been through a lot (getting to the point that they are now), but I am convinced these guys are suffering from too much flow --> really thinking of reducing the flow but wanted some feedback first.
I have miracle gro in the flourite substrate which keeps most of my nutrients in check except for potassium (which I dose as needed). There is co2 which was a recent addition (I just hit 4dkh + ph 6.6 = 30 ppm today ... had to slowly bring up my KH to allow for the swing). GH = 120 ... Ca:Mg about 6:1 ratio in hardness. My light is a nicrew RGB dimmed to 75% on a 7 hour photoperiod.
Aside: I have crushed coral in the back which I had to help with buffering from a while ago that leaches calcium -- also debating removing this now that I removed my almond leaf which leached acids ... I want the almond back for health benefits, but that is for later me to determine how to re-introduce it.
Below I have attached 3 views of the rotala (side/top/front) -- about 7 stems have made it straight-ish ... the rest just grow horizontal, throw off roots to stabilize, then attempt to shoot stems up.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Josh
