Quite new to planted tank. Currently have a fluval shaker 252 with a fluval 307 and oase thermal biomaster 350. These dont create that much flow to be honest plants dont seem to move anyway. Iv bin reading a few threads tonight saying you need enough flow so the plants are moving a little to get better growth. Do people put powerheads in there tank or not? What do you recommend?

They don't need to move that much just a gentle flow. The 307 has flow control have you got it fully open. You can add a powerhead or wavemaker

Yea got the filter fully open maybe to much pointed at the surface than down it to the tank. Might be worth redirecting some flow to try and get it to cover the whole tank.

Hi all,

A bit of flow never hurts to increase the <"level of dissolved gases">, but you don't need a huge amount if you don't inject CO2. I can see from <"your other thread"> you are adding "liquid carbon", but the x10 rule only really applies if you are actually adding CO2 gas .

cheers Darrel
