Having been on placement for over a year I returned to uni for my final in September, wasn't planning on starting another tank but found this absolute bargain on eBay for a fifth of the RRP and 7 months later I'm finally getting a journal together.

Tank: Fluval F90 - 90 x 35 x 45cm - approx 129 litres / 34 gallons nominal
Filter: Fluval 206 plumbed into tank
Light: Fluval LED plant lamp (6 hours per day)
Co2: Fire extinguisher with reg & solenoid from Co2Supermarket (8 hours per day)
Substrate: Flourite black sand
Hardscape: Redmoor wood & Mini landscape rocks
Fauna:
Bolbitus heudelotii
Java fern 'narrow'
Mix of crypts
Hydrocotyle tripartita
Hygrophila corymbosa
Micranthemum 'Monte-Carlo'
Rotala rotundifolia

Tank wasn't in the best of condition when I picked it up but gave it a good clean and got planting.

Growth is steady prune maybe once every 2 months, 20% water changes twice a week and dosing with a ready made EI mix from Aquarium plant food.

Lemme know what you think!

Very impressive. Great to see what you can achieve with a widely available tank. Just shows you that most aquarium shops could do this easily and inspire more customers to go down the planted tank route.

Awesome, love the filter hoses through the bottom of the tank. That's the first time I've seen that - is it a kit you've bought or a DIY job?

Looks awesome planted too by the way

Aquascaping never ceases to amaze me. From what (to me) initially looked a little uninspiring then to see the progression as the scapers vision comes together into something amazing..Love it!

Kicking myself with the planting of the crypt balansae for not placing it further to the left, it's growing really well but you can't see it because of the bush of bolbitis.

I'm insure where to go next, I'd like to replace the hydrocotyle with a grassy plant like tennellus or lilaeopsis types, open to suggestions!

Just go with your gut...and what you think is right at the time...evolving a scape in your own way is the best way to learn.
Great plant growth by the way.

In need of some advice. I am going to visit the Far East for 4-5 weeks until I start my grad job and was wondering how best to prep the tank?

I have someone to fill the tank up once a week and dose ready mixed EI but I can't expect them to carry out water changes.

Currently I am running the co2 8 hours a day and the lights 6 hours a day, should I reduce these periods?

Thanks
