Fluval FX-4 pipework

Hi all,
Has anybody changed their filter hosing on these? I'm not really a fan of the ribbed plastic and i'm guessing its a bit of a crap trap too as it's not smooth??
I use some clear food grade PVC hosing to drain the tank through the filter utility valve, could i use this as a replacement for the ribbed? I think it'd look better in the tank too

FX6 but same tubing, it may be ribbed but it doesnt kink, I have fitted hoses and solid pipework as well. I do like the ribbed tubing, the clear plast is harder to get a bend in tight places without kinking even/esp if you oversize the clear tubing

I didn't think of that! Its a pretty tight bend going into the tank to so that'd be no good! Glad i asked
Why have you solid pipework too? What does that do?
