That's easy as I removed it about ten years ago. With the plant mass I have in there it never did much anywhere.
It would if the wattage is high enough. Then again. I don t have plants in my main pond. So maybe your right. Only in top pond. I have 2x 55w uv. Which covers 4000 gallons. And does my pond. I don t let weed grow or plants in main pond. Which is a shame. Only because of rotary drum
So thats why i treat for blanket weed twice a year. My last pond had lots of plants in. Lily s bull rush iris.
But completely different setup.

My pond is like the opposite of yours Fred. Yours is designed around keeping and displaying your fish the best way you can, with the plants as an added extra, whereas mine is more a planted pond with the odd fish for interest. When the plants in mine get going I have to strip half of them out a few times a year or you can't see any water. I only really suffer from the algae in spring when the plants aren't growing but the sun is stronger and water is warming.
One day I'll have a nice koi focused pond but for now it's more a overgrown puddle.

Nice one mort. Its not about a nice looking pond. Its about what you get out of the fish hobby. Puddle or not.
Enjoy it mate. So long as the fish are happy. And yourself. Thats what it is all about.

Teaching them young.
Here my chag and a doitsu going back in the pond from the qt.
After inspections. And scrapes. For the microscope. Both clean.
Notice the little fellahs little net.
My 2 year old grandson. He loves the fish. Drags me out in all weathers. Bless him
Fred

Thought you'd caught a little lad there with your net in the first picture Fred. Nice to see a budding new aquarist.
haha nice one mort. i had to have his little hands on the handle . to let him believe he had caught the fish. same when releasing the fish into the pond. my lad has told me he keeps nagging him every day
granddad freds fish. haha love it.

New pump. Went from an 8000lth pump to 15000lth pump.

Reason i did some tests. And my 8000lth pump was flowing 6000lth
Due to friction loss. Plus head height.

So with the 15000 pump. It should give me 12000lph minimum.
So double the turn over of filteringthe pond.

I also have an 8000lph pump on another line. Skimmer line.

Thats my new pump in foreground.
And 8000 pump in the background.
Left it there as backup.

Looking good Fred. Those plants are probably benefiting from the extra food going in, the iris look especially happy.
