Phil

One for the output pipe and another for the hose pipe.

Two set in all and those connectors are cheap especially if you compare the price against Ehiem connectors.

So what sort of connectors are these? I would like to implement a similar water change system myself. I was thinking they were eheims?

Phil

Sit tight Phil with this posting as its a long one.

The first picture shows the taps to be isolated - these taps are incorporated in the water return pipe (centre pipe on a 2080).

Second picture shows the taps isolated.

Third picture shows the taps disconnected.

Four picture hose pipe connected - taps still closed.

The other end of the pipe is placed into the sink unit, the taps are open and the water flow out of the tank via the filter unit. Flow is slow at the minute

Flow improves in the this picture as the filter unit is power up, so the water is pumped out.

50% of water removed - now its time to refill the tank.

Hozelock connector added to hoze pipe and this is attached to the sink mixer tap.

The other end of the pipe which was connected to the filter unit is now placed inside the tank.

dechlorinated is add whilst tank is been filled up.

The joint that was diconnected is reconnected and the taps are opened.

DSC_0001.jpg

Pump switched on and the taps are opened / closed to prime / remove air from within the filter the system.

Tank full of water - no air locks - finished approx time 30 mins.

Hope this helps with your water changing.

Cheers Paul

Got mine set up now although as I mentioned in my pm to you, my connectors are the Eheim one and only their 16mm hose will fit.

I did manage to fit a standard hose inside a section of the 16mm hose and keeping it safe and secure with some jubilee clips.

Where theres a will theres a way :D This is just for water changes

One set of lights added to the hud (2x 39w) Will be adding another two of the same for mid day burst.

Black Background added...really must think about adding plants now :D

That quick water change I do like! Saves buying an extra pump. Do you know if you need a mixer tap? None of my sinks have one is all.

Garth

You would have to something like this: see attached thread.

http://www.ukaps.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 29&start=0

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hozelock-2274-Mul ... 587fed1111

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hozelock-2166-Hos ... 3359b63b41

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hozelock-2166-Hos ... 3359b63b41

So from the top:

two tap connector - two pieces of hoze pipe which are connected to the stop ends - then the "Y" piece - then another stop end and finally the hose pipe as the London dragon diagram minus the water pump ans the extension going to the shower.

Regards
Paul.
