Frogbit leaves dying

I suspect you might be also low in Nitrate also, you would be surprised how much fast growing stems and floaters suck Nitrate out the water column in a few weeks!!!
I've been putting off spending more money on a new test kit but I maybe should!

I <"wouldn't buy another one">, if you want something that will give you accurate values you need an Ion Selective Electrode, and they are expensive bits of kit. There are a <"number of issues with nitrate (NO3-) testing">, principally because all compounds containing <"nitrate are soluble">.

I actually use the leaf colour of the Amazon Frogbit as a <"proxy for fixed nitrogen levels">.
