Giving Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis a hair-cut?

Is it okay to trim L Brasiliensis?

Rather than thin it out, I want to cut some off the top, but don't know how the plant will react. My concern is that the cut ends will discolour and look a mess.

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

From what I have read you can trim it like grass, but since I never grew it I can't be certain.

Maybe someone with more experience can help with a reply
