Hi all,
The recent bright light, warm weather and high temperatures have provoked the <"Utricularia gibba, in the glasshouse, into flowering">.

The "tank" had a variety of floating plants added earlier in the year, but only Utricularia gibba, and a small amount of Salvinia "auriculata group", have survived the advance of Azolla caroliniana.

The tank has only recieved hard tap water, but does have a thick play-sand base.

cheers Darrel

I reckon my "dwarf" water lettuce could hold its own against your azolla for awhile, they took out my frogbit and red root floaters. These are from a pretty much no fert, barely any fish tank (which didn't have a light for about 10 days as the powerpack had died). They regularly get 8-9"in this tank for some reason, thinking of getting a manatee to deal with them. Not as pretty as a azolla and U. gibba combo.

this is two of the smaller, big ones in a salt bucket
