glosso or hc

hi all

i did try search for this, but getting conflicting stuff all over the web

i have done a hc carpet and loved it,
hated the way it uprooted itself on me though
i only found out that it needs severe mowing when it was too late

my new tank will be a little deeper than my last,
so im half thinking of glosso now

can anyone give me a rundown of the pros and cons of glosso vs. hc

i had enough lighting to grow hc well but not mega lights

its a 90w x 40h x 43d approx, ei dosed, co2, easycarbo
2 x 24w PC, 2 x 20w t8

In my opinion glosso require higher light than HC to keep them stay low.

My 3ft tank 90x45x45cm with 4x39W T5HO OSRAM 8000K and individual reflector, when I turn off one of the tube, glosso start to grow up. It is repeatable, so I'm sure that my light is just at the right wattage for glosso. Of course there is other thing like spectrum. Unfortunately I do not know what is OSRAM 8000K spectrum like

i would have thought 4 x 39 is a lot
(they say you can grow anything with two t5ho the length of your tank)
have you individual reflectors?

i am thinking of upgrading my lights but its on a long list
of things i cant afford to do! i may well stay with what i have for the moment
and see what happens

anyway thanks for the tip, i will do some more homework

im leaning towards hc because i know it and i still like the "tinyness"
compared to glosso
