Hi,
I live in Washington DC and had a planted tank for about 5 years in the late 90's. I bought a used 70 gallon reef tank and converted it to a planted tank with a DIY sump, fluorescent lighting and CO2. It was very successful but I eventually had to break it down. I am getting the itch again and trying to catch up on new advances. There have been many..almost too many!
I have a 25 gallon Landen rimless tank coming tomorrow and am still obsessing about lighting, filtration, and substrate. I would like to try this as a low tech (no CO2) tank, possibly with a soil bottom layer. I am favoring canister filter and LED lights.
Hope to be asking questions soon!
Best,
Paul
