Hi All,
I'm new to this hobby and recently picked up a number of second hand bits for my first tropical tank. Naturally, I'm keen to make sure this right before I start turning things on, starting my first cycle and ultimately risking any innocent fish lives.
I got an Eheim Professional 2327 filter included with a 125 L tank i got second hand (along with a number of other things). I believe the filter is fairly old, and the only guidance i've been able to find around it is the following - https://www.aquariumline.com/catalog/pdf/ingis_wet_dry_filter_2227_2229_2327_2329.pdf. However, from what I've read, when new it was a respectable piece of kit and can last a long time.
I have a few questions;
1. Does anyone have any general guidance for setting up this filter?
2. The filter has 3 ports for hoses, (inflow/outflow + a middle). Most external filters I see on the market have just two ports for what's the purpose of the middle one and can it be used without?
