No I don't think so, it is much easier to grow emersed in sphagnum moss. I think if conditions were suitable for it the water would be too soft and acid to keep MTS in. Have a look at this thread http://ukaps.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10477.Well, the UG wasn't successful.
I guess it was a combination of the relatively low light levels & pescky MTS :?:
