Hi,
Just joined the forum today .. thought i'd say Hi !
I've just moved to near Bath and had to shut down my marine tank to move it; 84 inches wide, 30 high and 24 deep, with a large sump. Am now going to start it up again as a Planted / Tropical tank.
Currently researching substrates and soils to put in there, along with CO2 kit and a Doser for liquid fertiliser.
Am thinking Black gravel with some soil underneath ... lots of reading to do before I make a large order !
Any advice gladly received !
Cheers

Sounds like an interesting project. It's certainly got some challenges.

You will need a huge amount of C02 for a tank that large. I'd start by reviewing the availability of very large CO2 cylinders.

I would have thought you'd need 15Kg to last any reasonable amount of time.

At 30 inches deep lighting is also going to need to be top end.

Do start a journal as you get going, I'd be sure to follow it.

Welcome to the forum.
