Can anyone explain what these are floating, just did a water change and noticed these … are they pests? What are they? They look like little tiny tadpole shape

Many thanks

Hi all,

I'd guess they are a <"Copepod "Cyclops">. If they are? They move in a <"very characteristic fashion">, a quick burst and then a stop then a burst etc. Sort of .......... ........... ..........

I'm going to assume it is a tank without fish? Because Copepods are a <"favoured food item"> for most small fish.

cheers Darrel
Yea the do have the movement quick burst then stop and float up then quick burst down again.

There is fish in the tank but not that many 2 pearl gouramis, red tail shark and two rams at the moment.

There are hundreds of them all just appeared … do they grow into anything that I should be worried about?

Many thanks
