my tank is 170 litres,so i would guess maybe 150ish after adding the substrate and wood that im going to be using.
at the moment the tank has 2 25w t8's that came fitted as standard(aqua star 10,000k and a grolux)
co2 is going to be from a FE.
got a bottle of flourish, but gonna be asking what people recomend in the relevent section.
plants im wanting so far are HC and eleocharis parvula.

am i going to need aditional lighting and if so how much?
ive got room for 2 more tubes but dont want to get more if there not needed.

thanks in advance dave

Hi,
The amount of light is not dependent on how much water is in the tank so this is not relevant when performing the wpg calculation.

The plants you mention require very high CO2 as opposed to very high light. High light just makes them grow faster - as long as there is enough CO2 that is. Concentrate on maximizing CO2 in the tank first, then add more light if necessary or if you like the brightness.

Cheers,
