    Are these generally well-regarded?

Would the '200' model be enough for a 24olitre tank, given that the tank is being passed through it about 3.5 times per hour?

Also... do both models use 12mm hose?

A lot depends on the room temperature. If your room is always warm then yes otherwise I'm not 100% sure. I run a 300 watt one on my 210 litre with no probs even when the room gets quite cold. Had mine about 3 years now and would highly recommend them.

ETH200 uses 12mm tubing and the ETH300 uses 16mm tubing.

Don't forget that for a planted tank we generally want to over filter. 3.5x per hour isn't a lot, I'd want at least 5x.

between my eheim 2028 and 2012 i think it'll be OK.... the 3,5 times was my estimate of the 2028 after pipe work and media.
