Plant Profile Hydrocotyle leucocephala

Plantbase submitted a new Plantbase Item:

Hydrocotyle leucocephala

Hydrocotyle leucocephala, or Brazilian water pennywort, is a very undemanding stem plant. We found this plant in the shallow waters of crystal clear rivers, and also on the wet ground in the dense jungle. In aquaria it grows very quickly, and is highly recommended for aquatics beginners. As soon as the shoots reach the water surface, they continue to grow and spread. Due to this rapid growth, the stems need frequent cutting and replanting.
