Inline diffuser working pressure/BPS questions

This has just got really interesting and if any of the Co2 gurus could chime in with their thoughts, I'd appreciate it.

I just got home to the end of the Co2 injection period and the tank was extremely saturated in the tiniest bubbles from the JBL inline running at a mere 20psi as per the specs. I've also reduced the bps to half of what it was when the working pressure was set to 40psi and every plant is pearling like crazy - I've never seen them pearl like this before - see pics.

All good news you might think, I've saved 50% of my gas because the efficiency has gone right up? The drop checker is more a shade of blue than the green/yellow I expected? So the tank is awash with mist, the plants are loving it but the DC says there is more headroom? Fish all look well and not hanging around the surface, hence why I started off with halving the BPS. The Wallichii has turned really pink on the tips too?

I don't get it since the DC now states the opposite and for weeks at the wasteful working pressure, the DC would be bright yellow by the end of the Co2 injection period.
