Hi peeps, just set up a new tank. It's the 1st time i have used plants from new as before now i bought from here when they are already submersed.

I have planted some Rotala Rotundifolia a week ago and the leaves seem to be turning brown and look unhealthy. Is this just a transition period from emersed to sub? It is getting plenty of flow and Co2, and dosing EI.

Do i leave it like this and just be patient and trim when it has grown a bit yet, or is it better to trim now??

This is the only stem plant i have and didnt trim it prior to planting..

Thanks guys

Hi
As you have found.
The advantage of purchasing plants from members is that they usually have been through the transitional period.
I would remove decaying leaves...this will help promote new submerged leaves.
You could leave the stems on the surface...for a few weeks.
This gives you easy access to remove dying leaves and observe new growth.
Cheers
