Is this hydor advanced co2 set any good?

That hydor set runs off a 74g cylinder, which on all but the smallest of tanks is only going to last a few days and week at the most. With replacements costing £13 each it starts getting very expensive, very fast.

That D&D kit would be a better option if a little pricey at the start. You can get welding 600g disposable cylinders on ebay for around 10quid ->

Don't get the D&D replacements, you are paying for the name.

BTW have you red my guide to fire extinguisher CO2? Its by far the cheapest option for most people.

i had the hydor, was using it on a 180l and the cylinder lasted only 10days, i wouldn't use on anything more than 30l...good for a nano where you want to keep the system discreet

i sold mine and bought another kit on ebay, cost £100 including 500g bottle, reactor, solenoid, tubing; its pretty good and i bought a second one!

let me know if you want the link

For the Hydor Professional system with the dual gauges you can actually get an adpter for it so you can connect it to a FE or any other CO2 cylinder. Not disposables though.

I got the D-D set from http://www.aquatics-online.co.uk for £99 delivered - if you spend £100 you get free delivery so I bought something like fish food for a few quid. Only thing is mine came with a powered diffuser pump which may be OK in a larger tnak but was way too big for my 15-gallon. Stuck it on a ceramic diffuser originally then moved to an external reactor. Either way it is good value with a solenoid included. I use non-original CO2 bottles and have wondered if Machine Mart etc do an equivalent bottle, seems they do!
