Just ordered new lights.... She's gonna kill me!

Was going to leave it a while to see how I get on with my 2x 30w T8's on the 300lt but my stems are telling me to get some new lighting.

I've just ordered a 6x 54w T5 unit

I'll prob use 2 lamps to begin with then move to 3 eventually but I doubt I'll ever use 6 on a planted tank.

Leaves my options open if I ever use the tank as a reef though

I've got buyers remorse already

If the tubes can be run independently then you could create some nice sunrise - sunsets with different coloured tubes.

unfortunately they are only switched in banks of two....

Being an electrician however its not out of the question I could rig something up

OK if you really want to use them all then you could start off with a new immersed set up, 6 tubes would get you a nice carpet very quickly but you would still only need two when you fill the tank!
If you had a fishless tank you could use more & really turn up the gas but, then you would be always trimming LOL
6 tubes on a reef tank - yep that would really work

Tanks only been running 4 weeks so another restart out of the question lol

Hopefully a little more light will make my stems a little more bushy and the HC spread quicker!
