Thanks, he is healthy now, we found him in a not so great LFS in a tiny tank, no wood belly was a bit sunken so we rescuded him, nice and very well fed for a 6 weeks in a quarentine tank, now he's in our planted community tank, he's only 2.5" SL so lots of growing to do, we are planning a big tank upgrade within the next 12/24 months to accomodate him better

How big will he get? I've often thought about a plec or two but the potential sizes of some of them put me off. I wouldn't want anything bigger than a bristlenose really (preferably smaller).

He(if he is, won't know for 6 years or so ) will hopefully grow to about 12"/14" and be pretty broad too, they are large fish when full grow and will need a 5ft tank really to be happy in, but they are slow growers
