The plant was a succulent stowaway on a outdoor bonsai that I couldn't throw away..

cheers..
it will accent my bigger bonsai size wise as it's only 12cm across.

I will take some soon. when the weather clears up. there all outdoors so go through the the seasons like normal. i have just repoted and they have been through a good pre spring hacking roots as well. 1 is a 38 year old boganvilla tree which i have just prepared for flowering so no greenery on it but when it flowers its unbelievable. I've had it 14 years. but I will post pics for sure when in full flower and iwagumi has grown in. a pre season teaser.

so i will do a picture now and update in 3 months.

Looks good, I've often though of doing the same but using garden moss.
give it a go. mosses are the best to use in general and normally i would only use moss in the past on bigger projects.
cheers

Like the Fukinagashi Style bonsai, and the land Iwagumi looks great next to it.

I've got a few Bonsai in training myself, there currently planted in the ground growing on and hope to have them transplanted into training pots in a few years.

thankyou for the kind words.it does take a while but once it starts to develop after being in its new pot the fruits of your labour shine through.
Good luck

Just an update to show how strange it all turned out.
I have no clue what's in the land iwagumi.

And a before and after of them together

The tree is still in progress.
The front sections main branch had some die back so it needs to fill in again.

Wow thank you I was being a tad lazy in my quest to find out,
Not bad for stoaways on the bonsai, I'm well chuffed with them, little things ahh :)

Hi all,
I was being a tad lazy in my quest to find out,
They are both plants that occur in the UK as well as Spain. Anagallis arvensis ("Scarlet Pimpernel") is a common native, and S. rupestre (Rock Stone-crop) a long established "alien" plant on dry-stone walls etc.

We have a native Stone-crop that looks similar (S. forsterianum), but that is a much <"rarer plant"> in the UK.

cheers Darrel
