I'm thicking of switching over to LED lighting, a friend of mine uses GU10 78 LED bulbs, they or only 5 watts each and his plants grow great.
Just wondering if any one uses them on here?
I have a planted tank for my Discus i think they look better in planted tanks.

Thanks

My memory may be letting me down here but GU10 suggests mains voltage which, if I'm correct, is undesirable near water. If you can set them up in a safe way or use low-voltage equivalents then I'm slowly getting the impression the LED lights are on the cusp of some feedback around and about regarding their performance for growing plants. At the moment I found there to be too many contradictory views to be sure.

GU10 are mains voltage, i have cover glasses on y tank and i'm going to position them about 9 " over the tank

FWIW I am using a TMC Grobeam and my plants are growing very well.
Tank is 12" deep, with small Echinodorus and Aponogenton crispus.
