I saw a massive tank at FoF with 10 banks of LEDs, the light was so clear and even (when Tom M noticed) projected a very clear shadow on the substrate of a discus. It does look much better but understand for plant use it's not the best?

Yeah but these units are basically T5 luminaires with a couple of LEDs thrown in! not really much on the LED side! ;)
They do look cool though ;)
