Hi All,i have been reading on some other planted forums that some people are now running there lighting like so,3 to 5 hrs in the morning then a break of between 2 to 4 hrs then then 3 to 5 hrs in the evening, but during the lights out period they try to use some sort of lower light methiod, say like a night light or something just for the fishes sake ,is anyone trying this method? if so how are the plants doing, regards john.

As far as i'm aware it's of no advantage to the plants, in fact its a disadvantage IMO I know people used to do it to "stop algae getting a hold" and i know for sure that you needn't worry about that mate ;)

Hi Dan,i get what you mean mate,my tank is a jungle but i dont have any algae issues at all at the moment, cheers john :D
