Here's a little tip for protecting your Lily Pipes.
I'd seen a video by Jurijs Jutjajev recommending using a bit of clear hose around the stem to protect the pipe from getting cracked on the edges of the aquarium. However, I tried it and found it a little too visible. So as build on the idea you can get little clear self-adhesive rubber pads - I believe they're intended to prevent slamming on kitchen cabinets. Stick a row of those around the arch underside. They're very subtle and unless you look very close they just look like little beads of glass.
