Looking for a backdrop plant

Looking for help with choosing a backdrop plant for a curtain style effect along the back of my tank. Currently have Vallis in there but it isn't doing too well. In fact I've never had much success with it. Running with about 2WPG. Currently using EasyCarbo with no injection (since I can't afford it). Any ideas welcome, thanks!

Should mention that I have a plant subtrate and am experimenting with EI dosing.

Vallis + EasyCarbo/liquid carbon usually results in melted vallis. It just can't tolerate the stuff and tends to do very badly. After switching to CO2 over liquid carbon a few years ago, my vallis mini twister went nuts and grew superbly, but only ever managed some poor straggly growth with the liquid carbon.

Have a look at Cyperus Helferi. Really nice plant and looks similar to vallis, but nice IMO
