I'm living apart from my main 180L low tech tank during lockdown, so would like a fun, low-cost project to occupy me for however much longer this all lasts.
It would be good to do something that feeds into my main tank project in some way. Maybe I could buy some plants to 'grow on' in my childhood 40x30x30cm tank, with some leftover jbl substrate? I could then add them to my main tank in due course. My main tank could certainly do with more plants, especially foreground.
But I'm not sure what else I'd need to make this a success. Would I need a filter? And would a
