Hello,

I would like to ask for some advice as to trimming H. tripartita. Obviously it is very fast growing and can dominate easily, so I want to keep it in check around my HC and hairgrass carpet.

When trimming, is it possible to just trim the leaves and keep the runners in place? Will leaves grow back in the same position? Rather than completely regrow the runners after each trim, I was hoping to maintain the position by leaving the runners and roots in tact where I want them.

Thanks :)

I would cut it down to as low as could then push it down in substrate. Ultimately I removed it from all of my tanks. It just grows to fast and takes over.
