What could be the cause this ? It appeared on older leaves.
Photos can be posted if needed.
Can the black mark be reversed? ( turn back green ). Plants looks/seems healthy ( growing new leaf)

FYI, Misc' known informations:
- non-CO2 10gallons US tank lite with 15watt 8 hours a day
- filtration HOB aquaclear 30? + water pump for extra flow. (water circulation look good IMO)
- Kh = 5 (adjusted with baking soda), Gh = 2, pH = 7.1
- inhabitants: red cheery shrimps, amano shrimp, otocinclus

ps.i know it doesn't look like a java fern :D

I will post a picture later today (at work currently). It will be better than me trying to describe it with my bad english. :D

I do know about these black spots/spores on the underside of the plants as describe in your link. I have it on the two other varieties of Microsorum pteropus "windelow" and "narrow leaf".

They'll end up like this...
